Abstract:
The application of hydroxysemicarbazide (HSC) as a stripping agent of Np(Ⅳ) for the improvement of U-Np separation is studied. The effect of varying stripping agent concentration, nitric acid concentration, temperature, contacting time, phase ratio and U concentration in TBP on stripping ratio of Np(Ⅳ) is investigated detailedly. The single stage experimental results show that HSC can strip Np(Ⅳ) from TBP effectively. The mixer-settler experimental result suggests that with HSC as stripping agent the decontamination factor of Np in 1BU can reach 20 in 6 stages.
