Abstract:
Adsorbable organic halogen compound (AOX) is an international water quality index for organic halogens. In this paper, a method of determination of AOX in sewage water using neutron activation analysis was established. The detection limits for Cl, Br, I are 60 ng, 15 ng and 6 ng, respectively. In addition, the AOX content in sewage water of pulp mills and hospital was determined using neutron activation analysis. Results indicate that contamination of organic halogen compounds in sewage water of pull mills can not be ignored.
