Abstract: In this work the pure 79Se is separated from the 1AW high level liquid waste. The radiochemical procedure is principally based on distillation as selenium bromide and precipitation as elementary selenium. The content of 79Se in the 1AW is measured using low background liquid scintillation spectrometer.
