Abstract:
Extraction of uranium(Ⅵ) and thorium(Ⅳ) with N,N dibutyloctanamide,N,N dibutyldecanamide and N,N dibutyldodecanamide in sulfonated kerosene from nitric acid solutions is studied. The effect of concentrations of aqueous nitric acid and extractants on the extaction distribution ratios is conducted. The stoichiometry of extracted complex is established. The change in the length of carbonyl chain does not affect the extraction of uranium(Ⅵ) apparently, however, the extraction of thorium(Ⅳ) falls with the increase in the length of carbonyl chain. These results are discussed by the aid of the IR spectra of extractant and extracted species.
