Abstract:
The behaviors of sorption and migration of radioactive strontium and cesium on granite have been investigated by both batch technique and column experiment. The sorption ratios ( Rd ) were deter mined. The effects of TBP,EDTA,oxalic acid, humic acid,pH value in water and particle size of rock on sorption of strontium and cesium on granite were studied. The results show that sorption ratios of strontium and cesium on granite are low, Rd of Sr and Cs are 14. 0 and 40 ml/g respectively. The /i\,of Sr and Cs decreases with the decrease of pH value in water and the Rd of them increases with the decrease of particle size of rock. TBP has no obvious effect on Rd of Sr,but the effect of humic acid on Rd, of Sr was obvious. The Rd of Sr decreases greatly when water contains 0. 5% EDTA. The effects of TBP,EDTA and humic acid on Rd of Cs are very small. The Rd of Cs decreases greatly when water contains 0. 5% oxalic acid. The migration velocity of Sr in granite column is fast, the KD is 11. 1 ml/g, that agrees with the Rd determined by batch technique.
