Abstract: A new radioanalytical method for the determination of zirconium-95 in fission products is described. The zirconium-95 content in the mixed fission products solution can be determined by solvent extraction with substoichiometric amount of l-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoylpyrazolone-5 (PMBP) and subsequently measuring the radioactivity of the extracts. This method avoids the determination of chemical yield, therefore it is rapid and easy to use. The relative standard deviation of the determination is±1.6%.
