Abstract:
In this work, the forward-backward average projectional recoil ranges of the residual 65Ni with respect to the beam direction in the 65Cu(n,p) 65Ni reaction with 13.9-15.6 MeV neutrons were determined by thick target-thick catcher method. The forward recoil fraction of 65Ni is much less than that produced in the 65Cu(p,pπ+) 65Ni reaction. In addition, the forward recoil fraction of 65Ni is much larger than its backward recoil fraction, which shows that the compound Nuclear statistical process plays a main role in the 65Cu(n,p)65Ni reaction with 13.9-15.6 MeV neutrons.
