SEPARATION OF NEPTUNIUM FROM URANIUM IN CONTACTOR 1A WITH 1,1DIMETHYLHYDRAZINEYin Dongguang Zhang Xianye Hu Jingxin Xiao Songtao(China Institute of Atomic Energy,P.O.Box 275(26),Beijing 102413)ABSTRACTThe separation of Np from U with 1,1dimethylhydrazine has been studied.The results of singlestage experiments with 1,1dimethylhydrazine as reductant or reductive reextractant show that Np can be effectively separated from U in aqueous phase or organic phase and the reduction reaction of Np(Ⅵ)—→Np(Ⅴ) with 1,1dimethylhydrazine in organic phase is slower than in aqueous phase.According to the experimental conditions of 1A in PUREX process,the simultated multistage countercurrent cascade experiments are performed with 1,1dimethylhydrazine as reductive scrub solution,the results show that the separation coefficient of Np from U is equal to 4.6×104.Keywords 1,1Dimethylhydrazine Neptunium Extraction Separation
