Abstract: In the operation of a "dry pot process" for the vitrification of simulated HLW, feed control and level detection can be easily achieved by providing an internal thermowell housing a multipoint thermocouple set. According to the change of temperature profile at the centre of the pot, the changing tendency of the level can be judged, and a procedure for remedying deteriorating operation is also described.
