Review on Immobilization of Radioiodine Waste

    • 129I in the environment was mainly discharged by the spent fuel reprocessing plant whose waste includes scrubbed solution and solid sorbents. The strategies for consolidation are cement, glass and ceramic immobilization. The research on radioiodine waste immobilization was mainly focused on glass and ceramic immobilization. Application and research of above methods have been reviewed in this paper. This review also contains recommendation for the future research needed to address treatment technologies on iodine-bearing waste from spent fuels reprocessing plant.
