THE REMOVAL OF RADIOACTIVITY FROM LANTHANUM OXIDE II.A STUDY ON THE EXTRACTION SEPARATION OF LANTHANUM AND ACTINIUM BY SOME CONVENTIONAL ORGANOPHOSPHOROUS EXTRACTANTS

    • Conventional organophosphorous extractants are compared in the extraction and selectivity of La and Ac. HEHEHP(P507)is selected as extractant for the removal of radioactivity from La2O3. Some factors effecting extraction are studied, such as pH value, lanthanum concentration of the equilibrated aqueous phase and concentraction of the extractant. The mathematical model on the distribution ratio and separation factor of La and Ac is deduced from the experimental results. It provides a dependable basis for the design of the technological process.
