    DETERMINATION OF F~-,Cl~-,NO_2~-,Br~-,PO_4~(3-)IONS IN HIGH-LEVEL LIQUID WASTE AND SLUDGE

    • The determination of anions F~-, Cl~-, NO~-2, Br~-, PO~3-)4and SO~2-)4 in high-level liquid waste (HLLW) and high-level radioactive sludge (HLRS) by ion chromatography(IC) is studied in detail. Potentially interfering cations are removed by pretreatment with a cation exchange resin column. A 10~4 times decrease in radioactivity is achieved by this step. Borate-gluconic acid solution is used as an eluent for IC to alter the peak sequence, and thus suppress the influence of NO~-3 ion. The method) has been successfully used for determination of various anions HLLW and HLRS.
