CONCENTRATION AND DETERMINATION OF PLUTONIUM FROM LARGE VOLUME OF WATER

    • The adsorption type sampling is used to concentrate plutonium from large volume of water. Neutral Al 2O 3 is activated and acts as adsorbent. Plutonium is leached by HNO 3 NaF, then seperating and sublimating procedures are performed. The radiochemical recovery is found to be (47.6±8.5) % and the detection lower limit is 3.0×10 -6 Bq/L(100 L water).
