STUDY OF CHEMICAL BEHAVIOR OF LANTHANUM IN WHEAT ROOTS BY NEUTRON ACTIVATION ANALYSIS

    • Interactions between lanthanum and wheat roots are studied by a sequential extractive process combined with instrumental neutron activation analysis as well as transmission electronic microscopy. The results show that La mainly combines with cell wall material and the combination is extremely firm and it can only be released by powerful chelators, such as EDTA. No soluble intracellular La is determined by this method.
