Abstract
A new chemical method based on two separation steps is developed to isolate promethium 147 from neodymium 147. The distribution of radioactive impurities in neodymium 147 is determined by pressurized displacement chromatography with DTPA as an eluent,then promethium 147 is separated from neodymium 147 and remaining contaminants by pressurized elution chromatoigraphy with α hydroxyisobutyric acid ascorbic acid (α HIBA Vc) as an eluent.
