PRELIMINARY STUDY OF HIGH-LEVEL RADIOACTIVITY SLUDGE Ⅱ. STUDY ON α-NUCLIDES REMOVAL METHOD OF THE SIMULATED HLRS

    • Alpha nuclides such as Np,Pu and Am in high level radioactive sludge (HLRS) are very harmful for its solidification process. If the sludge is solidified without pretreatment, the solidified waste is alpha bearing. Disposal of such wastes is very difficult and expensive. Removal of the alpha nuclides by washing method from HLRS is studied. Washing percentage of Np, Pu and Am is 85 %, 80 % and more than 95 %, respectively, when 1 mol/L HNO 3 is chosen as detergent.
