Abstract
The ruthenium sample solution is kept wet during any phase of the sample handling and loading before the sample filament is moved into the ion source. The filament current is increased very slowly to prevent change of valence state in the ruthenium compound. The ion-enhanced silica-gel mixture loading technique is developed to enable measurable ion beam to be produced. The results of the corrected natural ruthenium isotopic ratios for electron multiplier discremination and mass fractionation are as follows:96Ru/99Ru = 0. 4364,98Ru/99Ru = 0. 1464,100Ru/99 Ru = 0. 9898,101Ru/99Ru=1. 3367,102Ru/99Ru=2. 4788 and 104Ru/99Ru=1. 4652.
