PREPARATION OF CARRIER-FREE 111Ag FROM NEUTRON IRRADIATED PALLADIUM.

A simple and rapid method is presented for the preparation of carrier-free 111Ag from neutron irradiated palladium by TBP-polytetrafluoroethylene powder reversed-phase extraction chromatography. The separation is based on the adsorption of silver activity from dilute hydrochloric acid and subsequent elution with concentrated hydrochloric acid. More than 95% silver activities can be recovered. The gamma peaks confirm to literature values.
