DETERMINATION OF ~(226)R_a CONCENTRATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL WATER SAMPLES BY CATION EXCHANGE RESIN-EMISSION

    • A method is described for the determination of 228Ra in environmental water samples by cation exchange resin-emission. The procedure has been developed with emphasis on using cation exchange resin and 10% EDTA (pH = 10) as eluant. The minimum detectable activity of 226Ra is about 0.1 mBq/1 at the 95% confidence level for the water samples of 50 liters.
