STUDIES ON THE PHOTOCHEMICAL REDUCTION TO PRODUCE U(Ⅳ) IN THE ORGANIC PHASE OF TBP-KEROSENE Ⅱ. PRODUCTION OF DEGRADATION PRODUCTS AND THEIR EFFECTS ON EXTRACTION

    • In the photochemical reducton of U(Ⅵ) to produce U(Ⅳ) in the organic phase, production of degradation products and their effects on extraction are investigated. The results show that main degradation products of TBP-kerosene consist of compounds such as DBP and MBP,carbonyl compounds and nitro compounds. The yields of these products are a function of composition and tem-perature of the solation. The extraction properties are compared between the recovered extractant and the fresh extractant. It is shown that these two ex-tractauts have no significant difference.
