DETERMINATION OF THE YIELDS FOR THE RARE-EARTH NUCLIDES FROM 14 MeV NEUTRON FISSION OF 238U USING Ge(Li) DETECTOR

Through group separation for the rare-earth elements followed by succesive measurement with Ge(Li) detector, fission yields of 14 rare-earth nuclides are determined in the fission of 238U by 14 MeV neutrons. The experimental results are in good agreement with reference values except that of 153Sm. Application of this technique to nuclear chemical investigations is discussed. Both off-line computer programs. GAMAPU and GA- MA81, are checked and compared for analysing gamma spectra.
