Experimental date are reported for the ion exchange equilibria of the ternary system UO522+-Na+-H+ on a strong acid cation exchange resin at 25℃. It is found that the equilibria for any two ions are essentically the same in binary and ternary mixtures, as previously obtained for Cu2t-Na+-H+ and Ca2+-Na+-H+ ternary systems.An attempt has been made to predict ternary exchange data. The predictions of the ternary system UO22+-Na+-H+ based solely on the binary data are consistent with the experimental data for this system.The thermodynamic theory of multicomponent exchange equilibria is developed.
