PREPARATION OF ~(242)Cm IN CURIE QUANTITY

  • This work describes a new method for preparing242Cm in curie quantity. The chemical separation of242Cm is accomplished by TBP extraction chromatogra-phy and CHSOH-HNO3 anion exchange. This process has the advantages of less chemical steps and simpler operation. The product is good in quality. The a activity ratio of241 Am/242Cm of the product is 3 ×10-4, and the media of product is just CH3OH-HNO3 with no salt in it.
