Abstract
Reaction kinetics of PuO+2 with hydrogen peroxide in 0.1 mol/L NaClO4 solution is studied. Results of the kinetics of the reduction of PuO+2 with hydrogen peroxide indicate that the reduction of PuO+2 is first order with respect to hydrogen peroxide concentration and inverse first order with respect to hydrogen ion concentration. With these results and assuming a first order dependence with respect to the concentration of PuO+2 the reduction rate of PuO+2 increases with the increase of temperature. The velocity equation is as follow. The activation energy is deduced to be about 84 kJ/mol. The existence of Fe2+,F- ,HCO-3 and SO2-4 accelerate the reduction of Pu(Ⅴ) obviously. The reduction of PuO+2 with hydrogen peroxide in BS03 well underground water is studied. The reduction rate is obviously faster than that without hydrogen peroxide in the same underground water.
