SEPARATION OF Hf FROM FISSION PRODUCTS BY EXTRACTION CHROMATOGRAPHY

A radiochemical procedure to separate 181Hf from short cooled mixed fission products is developed and the separation factors (α) and separation degrees (Rs) are investigated for different carrier quantities. This method is simple, with a chemical yield of 60-70% and decontamination coefficients of 181Hf in the range of 108-109 for mixed fission products and 106 for Zr.
