Determination of Trace Nitrogen in Uranium and Uranium-Niobium Alloy by Ion-Selective Electrode Method

    • Determination of trace nitrogen in uranium and uranium-niobium alloy was studied by ion-selective electrode method. Optimal measurement conditions were obtained by using ISA as ionic strength adjustment buffer. The results show that determination limit of nitrogen is 0.03 mg/L when temperature is (25±1)℃ and the pH value ranged from 4.5 to 5.0. The recovery rate is 85%-98%, and relative standard deviation is less than 15%. This method can give consistent results with those obtained by traditional spectrophotometric method for the determination of nitrogen content ranging from 30μg/g to 80μg/g.
