SEPARATION OF AMERICIUM FROM CURIUM BY ANION EXCHANGE METHOD IN CH_3OH-HNO_3 MEDIA

The behaviors of Am and Cm in CH 3OH-HNO 3-anion exchanger system are inve-sugated.in detail and the dependence of their distribution,coefficients on the concentration of CH3OH, HNO3 and loading of resin is determined. Besides, preliminary studies of the behaviors of actinides such as U, Np and Pu, fission products and non-radioactive impurities in the separation process are also carried out. Based on results of these studies, a procedure for the separation of Am from Cm is proposed.
